One of the goals of Movendi Foundation is to stimulate research, development and implementation of innovative movement-assistive devices adapted to the needs and capabilities of people with altered motor functions in developing countries.

In developing countries good quality care for people with movement impairments like amputations, muscle weakness or neurological disorders is often inaccessible. Rehabilitation centers or hospitals are in most cases badly distributed over the country and therefore unreachable for large part of the population. In addition, the patients cannot afford the cost of the expensive required treatments or assistive devices to support their altered motor functions.

These activities have been started under the name MoveAid. Since 2014 the, MoveAid and Movendi joined the forces.
