Mission statement

Organizing volunteer projects in developing countries

It is one of our goals to start up projects, comparable to Indiaproject 2003, at different locations. In order to do this, volunteers can use the ‘scenario’ of Indiaproject2003 as a guideline. The plan can be concentrated on a different location (potentially in a different country) by making adjustments and performing further development. The emphasis in these processes lays on passing the knowledge to others. The teaching program that is aimed at designing projects for handicapped people, Spreuk lays much emphasis on motion analysis, biomechanics and methodical design. In addition, also physiotherapists are given further training on the locations by Dutch physiotherapists. This way, Movendi aims to continue her work in developing countries in an enduring way which can be carried through independently by the local population. Movendi Foundation coaches and supports new volunteers, both during the preparatory period and the execution of the project.

For our volunteer projects, we are not looking for people with a specific background. It is important though, that a volunteer can contribute to one of the projects within the goals set by Movendi Foundation. We will consider the possibilities during an exploratory talk.

Motivating students

By giving guest lectures at educational institutions, students are made aware of the differences between our Western countries and the so-called developing countries. Besides, we show students the possibility to contribute to development aid via Movendi Foundation. This contribution can be made in different ways, like apprenticeships at the different locations of Movendi Foundation.

Organising apprenticeships

We are currently closely cooperating with the Technische Universiteit Delft and the Haagse Hogeschool. By dispatching apprentices, both educational institutions contribute their mite to different Movendi projects.

We expect apprentices to express their motivation for a specific apprenticeship by means of an oral interview. When Movendi Foundation feels that the apprentice is suitable for working in a developing country, the preparatory course can be started. During this preparatory period, Movendi will help the student to prepare both for the contents of the assignment and the situation on the spot.

Organising work placements for companies

Movendi Foundation aims to leap onto the new trend in which companies dispatch employees temporarily to developing countries, in order to gain experience. A short or longer period abroad has positive effects on both the employees and the company itself. It is a nice way to do business in a socially acceptable way, but it is also a special way to offer the employee a valuable experience on behalf of the company. Movendi wants to help companies that are interesetd in offering their employees a work placement in developing countries. We can not only help you to find suitable locations, we can also play an active role during the whole project.

Sponsoring projects realised by Movendi

We will financially support projects realised by Movendi Foundation to a limited exent. Eventually, it is the intention that the projects will support themselves and will become financially independent. However, we think that a small sponsoring of particular activities on the locations is a welcome inducement to keep projects running.
